On October 10th, 2007, only 300 days left to the Olympic Games 2008, the major manufacturer of sports and active leisure apparel in the Baltic States JSC “Audimas” presented in the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee the official outfits of the Lithuanian Olympic team specially developed for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Following the global fashion trends, recommendations of foreign designers and employing the most advanced achievements in textile industry, one of the most professional JSC “Audimas” teams of technologists, designers and developers, in cooperation with the best Lithuanian sportsmen, in half a year created sports outfits which will be worn by the Lithuanian Olympic team in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
The main concept of the collection design was weightlessness and subtle, precise Lithuanian ornamentals, in addition to the Lithuanian symbols and colours. A unique Lithuanian Sun sign, words from the national anthem, national symbolism and colours make the outfits of the Lithuanian Olympic team exclusive and boost the Lithuanian spirit.
The predominating collection colour is green. This colour symbolize the Lithuanian nation, not only plentiful with its semantic meanings, but also active, sportive, clearly visible and recognizable. Green and all shades of green used in the collection were selected following the global fashion trends and the Lithuanian colours.
The most advanced technologies were used in the clothing for the Lithuanian Olympic sportsmen: seamless bonding technology, new printing methods and new generation, functional textile meet the tremendous demands of top-level athletes. The Lithuanian Olympic team wears the “Audimas” trademark clothing in the games already since 2000 and has won as many as eight medals for Lithuania. We expect that in the Beijing Olympic Games the Lithuanian athletes will also proudly mount the Olympic award pedestal, with the sounding tune of the Lithuanian national anthem, for more than once.
