“I’d like to commend the new sports outfits for its decor as well: the picture is laid out well for the bodies typical to athletes,0
and the additional ornaments are well-balanced and helping to distinguish from the crowd”,
says fashion historian Aleksandras Vasiljevas.
“Our blue is dark blue; it is the background rather than the colour like white,
black or grey. The same way as a large frame emphasizes a painting or a large box emphasizes an expensive piece of jewellery,
the dark blue was chosen to emphasize the main colour, that is, green.
Our aim was to make the green colour even brighter and more visible”, says Sebastienas Bouffay, designer of the RIO 2016 Collection.
“When you design an Olympic outfit, functionality is important; however, you should also consider the state the outfit is meant to represent”,
says designer Sebastienas Bouffay.
“I’ve spent many hours analyzing the collection but I could not find any fault. There is much specificity in it.
First of all, it is the sports outfit, so it has to be comfortable and fit for sportspeople of different build.
There are many subtleties that only the designers are aware of”,
says Egidijus Sidaras, designer of “Cantas” Fashion House.
