- Natural merino wool (17-21 microns) is finer, softer and less irritating than regular wool (25-40 microns). It offers good thermal insulation, the ability to absorb moisture without a feeling of wetness, and hydrophobic properties that help keep you dry even in damp conditions, as well as a pleasant softness against the skin.
